The Disability Resouce Center testing office is dedicated to providing resources to instructors for accessible testing. We encourage instructors to facilitate testing accommodations in the student’s typical learning environment (such as in-class or online) whenever possible.
Students who are unable to test in their typical learning environment can schedule in-person testing with our office through the G-ATR Testing Portal. As a best practice, please provide the instructions for your exams in our G-ATR Testing Portal at the beginning of each semester. You will be notified if one of your students requests to complete their exam at the Disability Resouce Center.
The Gator-Accommodated Test Request (G-ATR) portal is our designed to assist instructors in facilitating exams for students testing in our office. Once a student has sent you their accommodation letter and it has been determined that the student will test in our office, you will need to submit test instructions and materials into the portal. Our office will work with you and the student in ensuring that the exams are scheduled and administered according to your instructions. As a best practice, please provide the instructions for your exams at the beginning of each semester. It is important to note, students are unable to submit their Accommodated Test Request (ATR) if the test instructions and materials have not been uploaded to the portal.
Instructors can use G-ATR to:
Each testing room is monitored by closed circuit surveillance cameras. If a student is seen with unauthorized materials or devices, we will take a note of the incident and provide you, the instructor a detailed incident report. The consequences of academic dishonesty are left up to you, the instructor.
Students should submit their Accommodation Letter to you if they intend to utilize accommodations in your course. The accommodation letter contains a list of accommodations that have been approved for the student by our office.
If a student would like to reserve a space on campus for online proctored exams, they may want to consider one of the available proctor booth spaces at Library West.
To reserve a DRC-designated online proctoring booth at Library West, please email DRCTesting@ufsa.ufl.edu with the following information:

Santa Fe College instructors who do not have a Gatorlink username and password will not be able to use our G-ATR testing portal to schedule exams at the DRC. Instead, please email us at DRCTesting@ufsa.ufl.edu. Our staff will connect with you and walk you through the manual ATR process.
Due to our limited seating capacity, we will schedule specialty exams depending on availability. Programs and departments should notify the DRC as soon as possible if they would like to utilize spaces at the DRC for students with accommodations to complete specialty exams such as HESI, Major Fields Test, etc.
No, G-ATR will automatically calculate extended time for each student individually. However, extended time will still need to be added in Canvas for online exams.
By providing extended time for all students (ex: 90 minutes for a 60-minute exam), you are using a principle called Universal Design. Since G-ATR calculates extended time for each student individually, please include the exam duration without extended time when providing test instructions into G-ATR.
If a student with an Incomplete grade needs to test at the Disability Resource Center, instructors can facilitate this testing at the DRC by providing test instructions in the G-ATR portal. Since the course was likely in a previous semester, it will be important to update the “Cut Off Date” for the course. To do this, log into G-ATR and click on “Cut Off Dates” on the top of the screen or left-side navigation. From there, change the term to the semester in which the student was enrolled in your course. Click “edit” to update the cut-off date to the day after the exam should be completed and click “save”. You should now be able to upload test instructions following the steps in the G-ATR Instructor Guide. Please feel free to contact the DRC testing office if you have any questions or concerns about this process.
If your exam is open for a window of time (usually for one or more days) you can indicate this in G-ATR by selecting the “student may request different date/time” button when adding your test instructions in G-ATR. Please be sure to include the last day to test in the “test date” field. Your start and end time can be your preferred start time or the window of time such as “8am – 6pm” that the student(s) are able to test. You can also include special instructions in the “Additional Instructions/Passwords” box at the bottom of the page to further clarify when the exam is available.
