Join us Sep 17 at 2:00pm ET for Compelling Counselor Letters: Recommendation Basics During the Pandemic and Beyond. This engaging webinar will discuss best practices for writing compelling counselor recommendations that communicate a student’s character, context, and contributions to family and community.
Our panelists will be:
NACAC’s 2019 State of College Admission report identified counselor recommendations and student background information as important factors in admission decisions. A separate survey found that 70% of admission officers deem character to be moderately to considerably important to an applicants’ candidacy. Meanwhile, the national average student-to-counselor ratio is 455 to 1.
Our panelists will discuss what is most helpful to admission offices and give examples of recommendations that meet these needs during a pandemic. The bullet/narrative letter of recommendation format will be shared as a way to save time for counselors, and more importantly for college admissions counselors when reviewing the letter for identifying key points and references during committee.
